After completing the degree in Medicine and Surgery at the University of Barcelona and training at the Hospital Clínic of Barcelona, Dr. Tarragona attended the specialization in Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery at the Cruces University Hospital of Bilbao, a reference hospital in the Northern Spain in reconstructive surgery and large burns.
His professional career continued throughout Latin America, at the Bocagrande Hospital, in Cartagena de Indias, Colombia; and at the Ivo Pitanguy Clinic and the Santa Casa da Misericordia Hospital, in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil; where he acquired experience in body and facial aesthetic surgery.
Back in Europe, he conducted medical internships in both, the University Hospitals of Ghent and Brussels (UZ Gent and UZ Brussels) and the Edith Cavell clinic, Auderghem (Belgium), where he complemented his training in reconstructive microsurgery, lymphedema surgery and gender reassignment surgery.
Shortly after, he travelled to the United Kingdom, where he collaborated with the Queen Victoria Hospital (East Grinstead, England), to hone his surgical skills in cosmetic and reconstructive breast surgery.
